If you are a proud owner of a brand new iPod Nano and want to know how to get started uploading music then this article is just right for you. Not just music but you can also start to upload games, videos or audio books.

Step 1

Start loading music onto your computer. Most of us want to make use of the CDs we have collected, so start loading music files from CDs onto the hard disk of your computer to make it accessible to the iPod’s manager. In case you are using iTunes then you can just load the CD into your systems CD drive and select “Copy files to iTunes music folder”.

Step 2

Import the music files into iTunes which is the default ‘iPod manager’ that imports and exports music files for the iPod. If you do not prefer to use iTunes then you do have other choices, but for a beginner the iTunes is a better option.

You can import any music file into iTunes once you have it uploaded onto your computer. To import music files click on the top menu and select File – Add Folder to library - choose a folder that contains the music files and click OK. Now iTunes will display the selected music file in its Library list.

Step 3

Now it’s time to connect the computer with your iPod Nano using the USB cable provided along with the iPod. The iPod’s left hand menu will display a confirmation once the connection is successful.

Step 4

Start uploading the music file to your iPod Nano. The uploading process will vary depending on whether you have opted to use iTunes to manage your iPod or you have opted to ‘manually manage’ your iPod. The latter option is better as you can control which files you want to upload onto your iPod.

But if you have opted to let the iTunes to manage uploading of files then just click the icon on your iPod and then click on ‘Sync’ and you are done! You can also try to form playlists to group your favorite songs and you can also use the iStore to download free podcasts.

If you prefer to manage uploads manually then you will be required to do a one-time set up. Click on the Nano icon in the iTunes screen and choose ‘manually manage music and videos’. Now, all you have to do is select and drag the music file you want onto the iPod icon. That’s it! Your music is uploaded and ready to go.

Step 5

To safely disconnect your iPod from the computer, click on the eject button seen on the iTunes screen before disconnecting your iPod.

If you are anxious to know about Apple’s new iPod Nano then you have come to the right place. This article gives a detailed review of the new Nano and about its distinctive features.

The new iPod Nano is super thin and sports a brand new screen that not only displays images but can also be used to play games or watch videos, similar to that of an iPod classic model. It is really amazing how sleek and thin the Nano is. It perfectly combines the flexibility of a Shuffle with the incredible features of the iTouch. Moreover, the new iPod Nano is the only iPod that is compatible with Nike+ and is packed with a stylish stopwatch logging feature. It is a perfect tool to augment your fitness workouts and the fact that it is extremely portable is an added advantage as you can easily wear one on your arm for a session at your gym or take it along with you for a run.

One of the major attractions of the new Nano, as well as the entire iPod range is the inclusion of gaming functions. Yes! Apple is now all set to take on the videogames market. The 3G Nano is installed with three new games, the Apple’s iQuiz, Vortex and Klondike Solitaire in color.

The launching of 5G iPod games has given an incredible boost to the unique experience of iPod. Of course, the introduction of games in iPods does not pose any threats to the likes of Nintendo’s DS, at least for now. On the other hand, the option to play games in iPods come in handy to kill time while travelling or while waiting, which is considered to be a great plus to any iPod.

ipod nano 8gb silver

Above all, the new iPod Nano now has the ability to run videos. That’s right! In addition to playing games you can also watch podcasts or even watch your favorite TV show or a movie on your iPod’s screen. The iPod Nano sports a decent screen on which to watch videos or play games.

On the whole, this brand new addition to the wide range of iPods is definitely a giant step up from the earlier version. It has some of the coolest features that will be appreciated among all and is one of the best Christmas gifts that you can choose for your loved ones. This is an excellent media player that is well worth your investment either for yourself or as a gift.

When you finally own an iPod, especially the iPod Nano, all you want to do is to listen to all your favorite music without any interruptions which means you don’t want to keep recharging your iPod Nano’s batteries for too long. In other words, what you want is to increase the amount of listening time by reducing the number of times needed to recharge the battery. Read on to find some useful tips to do just that.

The first tip is with regards to your iPod’s backlight. While the backlight does provide great enhancement for your player, it takes up a lot of charge from the battery. One of the main reasons for fast draining of your battery is keeping the backlight ON, unnecessarily for long durations. To avoid this adjust the settings of the backlight such that it is turned ON only for a few seconds. You can also turn off the backlight when it is not necessary, particularly during daytime or in bright environments. You can save a lot of battery time by switching off the backlight when there is adequate sunlight to see your iPods screen.

To turn off the backlight use the options tool in the iPod menu. You can always turn the backlight on again during night time or when it is too dark to see the screen. When you turn on the backlight option make sure to set it such that it will be on only for a particular time and will turn off once that time is passed or when there is no activity for a specified time. This simple adjustment can help to extend the life of your iPod Nano’s battery. This will greatly reduce the time needed to recharge the battery and increase the play time of your iPod Nano.
The next tip is regarding the recharging time. Recharging the iPod Nano’s battery for longer periods than is necessary will also make the battery to lose its charge. Most often, people tend to charge their iPod’s battery throughout the night, every night while they barely ever use their iPods during the day. Charging a battery when it is still charged to most of its capacity will decrease the lifetime of the battery over time. This means that in time you will have to charge your iPod’s battery more frequently. So, it is better to charge your iPod’s battery when it is completely drained or at least when the charge is almost discharged.

The above tips are simple but very useful to decrease the charging time and to increase your iPod Nano’s playtime. Follow the above tips to enjoy your iPod even more without any unnecessary interruptions.

The iPod Nano is greatly appreciated by many as it provides a simplified but sophisticated access to a huge data base of favorite music. You can enjoy having up to 2000 songs at your fingertips with the Apple’s iPod Nano and you can extend its capabilities to a great extent with some of the iPod Nano’s exclusive accessories.

Some of the must have accessories to enjoy an iPod Nano to its fullest are headphones, protective cases, docking stations etc.

High quality headphones like MacAlly’s mTune-N provides amazing sound quality and works with a docking station. The docking station is a must have accessory that has an in build slot in which you can dock your player perfectly. With this accessory your player is already docked to the headphones and so saves you from dealing with cumbersome cables or connecting wires. However, docking stations are most often somewhat bulky. There are a wide range of headphones available in all sizes and shapes from which you can definitely find one that suits your style and your ears.

The next accessory is the protective case. Exclusive cases for iPod Nano are available from different manufacturers who provide a wide range of choices that are designed to suit your style. These cases are designed for your convenience and with some of them you can easily tuck your miniature player in to your pocket or an armband. Some are so thin that they fit your iPod like a second skin while some come as solid cases. For instance, iJacket produces high quality plastic covers that are highly resilient with convenient openings for the click wheel and the screen of an iPod Nano. This cover protects your iPod against accidental bumps and retails for about $16. Covers also come in cool designs to cater to today’s youth, like ScoobyDoo, Batman and SpongeBob.

Apart from these you might also need additional accessories like an iTrip FM transmitter which makes it possible to operate your iPod from any FM radio. To recharge your iPod you can make use of a Griffin Power Duo that comes with both a car and an Ac charger.

Another useful accessory is the AV connector with which you can connect your iPod to your home entertainment system. Or you can make use of the docking systems that are available exclusively for iPods. Or you can make use of any of the various accessories produced by manufacturers who specialize in supplying a wide range of exclusive iPod accessories to enhance your experience with Apple’s iPod Nano.

Apple has been the leader for a long time now in the multimedia and electronic gadget market. They have established this position with their innovative, user friendly, affordable and space efficient designs. This is particularly evident in their range of mp3 players as they stand out from the rest in the market. The Photo and Video versions of the iPod are perfect options for those with deep pockets and the iPod Shuffle is just right for the lower end market. But if you are looking for something in-between, then your choice would be the iPod Nano.

While it is true that the Video and Photo versions of the iPod sport the biggest disk size, the iPod Nano is the one that boasts all the unmatched features that makes the iPod the undeniable leader of the mp3 market. With the Nano you have the option to choose the storage capacities from 1GB, 2GB or you can even choose a 4GB to store up to 1000 songs! The range starts with the cheapest model costing about $149.

While the iPod Shuffle is much cheaper, it lacks some of the key features that make the iPod Nano exceptional. Of course, you can listen to all your favorite music with the Shuffle but only in random as you do not have any control over which song you want to play next. On the other hand, the iPod Nano gives you complete control to play any song in any order though it lacks the disk space of the more advanced models.

In addition, the iPod Nano is unbelievably sleek and trendy. It is so small, just about the size of a pencil which makes it extremely portable.

The only drawback that the iPod Nano has is with its durability. Even with all the state-of-the-art technology and design the iPod Nano, as well as the bigger versions suffer from this drawback. While the iPod Nano can most probably make more trips with you to a gym when compared to the iPod Photo or Video, it will most likely start to fade out faster than the iPod Shuffle.

This problem is inevitable in all electronic gadgets but then, since you are paying top dollar you would naturally expect more. Most also have problems like being too bulky, insufficient memory and of course, lack of durability. So, when all aspects are the same then it is far better and much safer to stick with the leading brand.
