1. If you are a proud owner of a brand new iPod Nano and want to know how to get started uploading music then this article is just right for you. Not just music but you can also start to upload games, videos or audio books.

    Step 1

Start loading music onto your computer. Most of us want to make use of the CDs we have collected, so start loading music files from CDs onto the hard disk of your computer to make it accessible to the iPod’s manager. In case you are using iTunes then you can just load the CD into your systems CD drive and select “Copy files to iTunes music folder”.

    Step 2

Import the music files into iTunes which is the default ‘iPod manager’ that imports and exports music files for the iPod. If you do not prefer to use iTunes then you do have other choices, but for a beginner the iTunes is a better option.

You can import any music file into iTunes once you have it uploaded onto your computer. To import music files click on the top menu and select File – Add Folder to library - choose a folder that contains the music files and click OK. Now iTunes will display the selected music file in its Library list.

    Step 3

Now it’s time to connect the computer with your iPod Nano using the USB cable provided along with the iPod. The iPod’s left hand menu will display a confirmation once the connection is successful.

    Step 4

Start uploading the music file to your iPod Nano. The uploading process will vary depending on whether you have opted to use iTunes to manage your iPod or you have opted to ‘manually manage’ your iPod. The latter option is better as you can control which files you want to upload onto your iPod.

But if you have opted to let the iTunes to manage uploading of files then just click the icon on your iPod and then click on ‘Sync’ and you are done! You can also try to form playlists to group your favorite songs and you can also use the iStore to download free podcasts.

If you prefer to manage uploads manually then you will be required to do a one-time set up. Click on the Nano icon in the iTunes screen and choose ‘manually manage music and videos’. Now, all you have to do is select and drag the music file you want onto the iPod icon. That’s it! Your music is uploaded and ready to go.

    Step 5

To safely disconnect your iPod from the computer, click on the eject button seen on the iTunes screen before disconnecting your iPod.
