Is the iPod Nano Right for you?
Apple has been the leader for a long time now in the multimedia and electronic gadget market. They have established this position with their innovative, user friendly, affordable and space efficient designs. This is particularly evident in their range of mp3 players as they stand out from the rest in the market. The Photo and Video versions of the iPod are perfect options for those with deep pockets and the iPod Shuffle is just right for the lower end market. But if you are looking for something in-between, then your choice would be the iPod Nano.
While it is true that the Video and Photo versions of the iPod sport the biggest disk size, the iPod Nano is the one that boasts all the unmatched features that makes the iPod the undeniable leader of the mp3 market. With the Nano you have the option to choose the storage capacities from 1GB, 2GB or you can even choose a 4GB to store up to 1000 songs! The range starts with the cheapest model costing about $149.
While the iPod Shuffle is much cheaper, it lacks some of the key features that make the iPod Nano exceptional. Of course, you can listen to all your favorite music with the Shuffle but only in random as you do not have any control over which song you want to play next. On the other hand, the iPod Nano gives you complete control to play any song in any order though it lacks the disk space of the more advanced models.
In addition, the iPod Nano is unbelievably sleek and trendy. It is so small, just about the size of a pencil which makes it extremely portable.
The only drawback that the iPod Nano has is with its durability. Even with all the state-of-the-art technology and design the iPod Nano, as well as the bigger versions suffer from this drawback. While the iPod Nano can most probably make more trips with you to a gym when compared to the iPod Photo or Video, it will most likely start to fade out faster than the iPod Shuffle.
This problem is inevitable in all electronic gadgets but then, since you are paying top dollar you would naturally expect more. Most also have problems like being too bulky, insufficient memory and of course, lack of durability. So, when all aspects are the same then it is far better and much safer to stick with the leading brand.
